RealBlocks Names Douglas DuMond to its Advisory Board

RealBlocks, an alternative investments digital technology platform that enables global distribution capabilities for fund managers, announces the appointment of Douglas DuMond as the firm’s newest Advisory Board Member, where he will also serve as a Senior Strategic Advisor. He brings over 30 years of experience in the asset management business to RealBlocks.

“Doug is an excellent addition to the RealBlocks Advisory Board and brings a valued perspective from many of the most respected managers spanning institutional and intermediary distribution of alternatives,” said Perrin Quarshie, Founder & CEO of RealBlocks. “He will be instrumental in helping us grow RealBlocks and deliver our best-in-class product to new clients.”

“I am excited to join RealBlocks Advisory Board at this point in the firm’s growth trajectory,” said DuMond. “I’m looking forward to supporting the team as they provide digital solutions to alternative investments for wealth managers and investors and powering growth for RealBlocks.”

DuMond is a retired Partner and Managing Director of Clarion Partners, formerly ING Clarion, a Global Real Estate Manager. During his time at Clarion, he participated in a management buyout from ING and co-led the development of unique and innovative vehicles, which provided institutional pricing and daily valuation of private, institutional real estate for the defined contribution and intermediary markets.

Shortly after his time at Clarion Partners, DuMond served as a Strategic Advisor to Bentall Kennedy, the predecessor firm to Bentall Green Oak (BGO), where he co-led the development of its daily valued commercial real estate fund.

During his career, DuMond also served as Managing Director and Head of the Defined Contribution Business with BlackRock, leading the integration of Merrill Lynch Investment Management’s (MLIM) DC Retirement investment platform of $69 billion, forming a $450 billion DCIO business. Earlier, he served as President of Intermediary Services Division for NATIXIS, which acquired “NVEST,” formerly an affiliate of MetLife. In this position, DuMond’s division raised over $13 billion in new assets and was responsible for over $35 billion in AUM. NATIXIS U.S. affiliates include Oakmark Funds, Loomis Sayles, AEW, and CGM.

“Doug’s expertise and deep industry knowledge will be invaluable as we continue to pioneer technology innovation in the alternative investments space, particularly in addressing the issues of administration, access to offshore capital, and liquidity in alternative investments for managers and investors,” said RealBlocks Chief Operating Officer Scott Brooks.

DuMond holds a BS Cum Laude and MBA (1996) from the University of Connecticut School of Business.

Throughout his career, DuMond has been active in various philanthropic activities. He currently serves on the Public Policy Council for the Michael J. Fox Foundation and as a Trustee for the Lyman Allyn Art Museum. Additionally, DuMond has previously served on the boards of the Arthur Ashe Safe Passage Foundation, the National Defined Contribution Council (NDCC), and the Defined Contribution Real Estate Association (DCREA).
