We are in the process of launching our first clients, including a few tier-one private equity firms and other well-respected asset managers, as we prepare to scale-up.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a talented Senior Backend Software Engineer with expertise in Java Spring Boot framework to join our development team. As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic and infrastructure of our web applications. Your deep understanding of Java Spring Boot and your ability to work in an Agile environment will contribute to the success of our projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable server-side applications using Java Spring Boot framework. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, architects, and product managers, to define and implement efficient APIs and data models. 
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to coding best practices and standards. 
• Optimize application performance by identifying and resolving backend-related bottlenecks. 
• Conduct thorough testing of the backend systems to ensure functionality, reliability, and scalability. 
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in Java Spring Boot and other relevant technologies, and actively share knowledge with the team. 
• Apply systems thinking to analyze and solve complex problems related to the backend architecture. 
• Coach and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to help them grow professionally. 
• Collaborate with teams to implement cloud native development practices and ensure smooth deployment and scalability. 
• Participate in Agile processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 
• Proven experience as a Backend Software Engineer, with a strong focus on Java Spring Boot development. 
• Proficiency in Java programming language and hands-on experience with the Spring Boot framework. 
• Solid understanding of server-side architectures, microservices, and RESTful API design principles. 
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and knowledge of cloud-native development practices. 
• Familiarity with database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB. 
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues. 
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team and convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
• Demonstrated experience working in an Agile environment and familiarity with Agile methodologies. 
• Ability to train and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support for their professional growth. 
• Nice to have: Industry knowledge of financial markets, specifically capital markets.
